Go see A Christmas Story at the 5th Ave.

This weekend we went to see the new musical A Christmas Story.  It is a new never seen musical created from the movie A Christmas Story. You could tell that it was a work in progress but never the less it was good.  It seem to me that it relies on you holding the original movie with such esteem that nothing new was allowed to developed. It had the same old surprises and same old lines that you wait for.  And that is the trick isn’t  when you take a movie and change it into a play either it is too close to the movie or it is changed so much it bears little resemblance to the original.

It is running until Dec 30.  That is plenty of time to get tickets and see it.

Snow Days and Thanksgiving

As you all know it snowed in Seattle last week.  It put a kink in planning thanksgiving dinner.  I did not get to go to the market downtown for the last minute items that I was going to pick up.  So a couple of items were dropped or changed in the menu I planned for T-day.  Luckily I did pick up charcoal for the turkey before I came home on  Monday.  That leads me to school and  snow, I went into class on Monday to find out that they were closing the school at 2:00 in the afternoon.  My  first class starts at 1:00  so it was kind of a bust for me.  Then for the rest of the week there was no classes for me.  That was a mixed blessing.  It helped me in having lots of time to make the meal, Tuesday – dinner rolls, Wednesday -  the pies, brineing the turkey, and other prep work.  But I didn’t do a thing for school.  All that time and I didn’t get ahead of the class work.  Oh well, Thanksgiving was good and I did have a lot of fun making the meal.  If you want to find out what I made check out my food page.

What I live with

Here I was working on this thing here, this blog.  Doing what I needed to do for the assignment that is due.  But also thinking about what, why and how I want this site to look like so that it will have a usefulness after this class.  In fact I am now thinking that I need to change some pages.  I need to do some research into word press. I want to know how to get post to show up on other pages or why have other pages at all and not just a big long page of posts.

So I walkout and say to Mitch and Andrew that I just need to get a post made and I think that I have the assignment done.  But I don’t know what to post about, am still thinking structure and content.  This is the responses I get.  Well what kind of post do you need? We have several downstairs 4×4, 2×6, 2×4…… And….. I am sure we still have stamps in the office.
